Skin color in humans is influenced by three genes known as A, B and C. A,B and C are dominant alleles and impart dark skin color. Recessive alleles a, b and c impart light skin color. More are the number of dominant alleles, darker is the skin color and more are the recessive alleles, lighter is the skin color. Hence the genotype AaBbcc has two dominant alleles and four recessive alleles and imparts relatively lighter skin color than the other three genotypes AAbbCc, AaBbCc and aaBBCC.
