In double fertilization, there is involvement of two male gametes of pollen tube and egg cell and central cell of embryo sac (a total of 4 cells). It also shows the involvement of two male gamete nuclei, an egg nucleus and two polar nuclei (a total of 5 nuclei). As a result of this process there is formation of diploid zygote and triploid primary endosperm cell.
