The amount of DNA in a cell at the end of S phase is 48 pg. Calculate the amount of DNA in each of the daughter cells after meiosis I.

Solution

At the end of S phase the nucleus of cell contains 4c amount of DNA
Hence, 4c= 48pg
Cells after meiosis I contain 2c amount of DNA.
Therefore, 2c=48/2=24pg of DNA
