Solution

Roots have radial vascular bundles with exarch xylem. When xylem and phloem are present on different radii such vascular bundles are called radial vascular bundles. In roots, the protoxylem lies towards periphery and metaxylem lies towards the centre. Such arrangement of primary xylem is called exarch.
