DNA molecules are polymers of deoxyribonucleotides. Nucleotides contain sugars, phosphates and nitrogenous bases. Hence, in DNA molecule the number of sugars is equal to number of phosphates. Therefore, the ratio of nitrogenous bases and sugars is 1:1.
