Solution

Bacteria divide by binary fission, it is a mitotic division, each bacterial cell is divided into two identical daughter cells. Rhizobium is a nodule forming bacterium present in roots of leguminous plants. These bacteria divide by binary fission. Meiosis does not take place in bacteria because all bacteria are haploid in nature. They contain only single set of chromosomes.
