The Leaf
Question

Assertion: Leaf of a grass can be torn vertically into two or more pieces with smooth margins.

Reason : Grass is a monocot and has parallel venation.

Easy
Solution

A leaf with reticulate venation can not be torn in to pieces with smooth margins as the venation is in the form of net work due to anastomosis of veinlets. A leaf with parallel venation is can be cut either vertically as in grasses or transversely as in banana into pieces with smooth margins as the venation is parallel.
