Joan Barry had blood type A, which can be produced by either genotype IAIA or IAi. With blood type O in Chaplin, he produced only by genotype ii. Therefore the child could have either blood group A or blood group O. Any other type of blood group would prove that the child was not fathered by Chaplin.
