Solution

In dicot stems, the vascular bundles have cambium between phloem and xylem and hence called as open vascular bundles. The cambium contributes for secondary growth. Not only dicot stems but also in roots too there is organization of axis as epidermis, cortex and stele. Vascular bundles with xylem and phloem in the same radius are described as collateral bundles and such bundles are present in stems of both dicots and monocots as well as leaves. Pericycle is present in roots as well as dicot stem. But the pericycle is usually few or one layered in root and many layered in dicot stem. Pericycle is not organized in monocot stems.
