Gymnosperms are the only group of plants whose ovules have archegonia in their female gametophytes. Unbranched stems are present not only in Gymnosperms but also in some angiosperms like Coconut. Seeds are polyembryonic in Gymnosperms and some angiosperms like Citrus and Mango. Sporophylls form cones in some pteridophytes and almost all gymnosperms.
