Choose the plant in whose flowers the half of the ovary of gynoecium is present below other floral parts and the other half of the ovary above the other floral parts.
In hypogynous flower the ovary occupies the highest position compared to other floral parts as in mustard, china-rose and brinjal. In perigynous flowers the ovary is half inferior and half superior to other floral parts as seen in peach, plum and rose. In epigynous flowers the ovary is surrounded by thalamus and fuses with the thalamus with other floral parts preset above the ovary as in guava, cucumber and sunflower.
