During anaphase I of meiosis:
The homologous chromosomes are separated, while sister chromatids remain associated at their centromeres
The nuclear membrane and nucleolus reappear and cytokinesis follows
Splitting of the centromere of each chromosome occurs allowing them to move towards opposite poles of the cell.
There is formation of tetrad of cells
During anaphase I of meiosis the homologous chromosomes separate, while sister chromatids remain associated at their centromeres.
