During Anaphase I of Meiosis I
In Anaphase I of meiosis I, the homologous chromosomes of bivalents are separated and drawn towards respective poles and the phenomenon is called disjunction or seggregation. This is the reason for reduction in chromosome number to half in the daughter cells.
