Detailed Solution

In Volox after zygote formation there is meiosis and forms four cells but not spores. These cells divide repeatedly and ultimately form the colony. In Spirogyra, the zygote divides by meiosis and forms four haploid nuclei and three of them degenerate. from the remaining nucleus due to mitotic divisions there is formation of Spirogyra filament. In Chlamydomonas after division of zygote by meiosis 4 meiozoospores are formed and each one enlarges into a vegetative Chlamydomonas cell.
