For the formation of a sucrose molecule in a C3 plant, there is requirement of 24 NADPH2 and 36 ATP are required. For the formation of sucrose in sugarcane, a C4 plant requires 24 NADPH2 and 60 ATP. Sugarcane needs an additional 24 ATP for the formation of a sucrose molecule in dark reaction.
