How many turns of Calvin cycle and how many ATP molecules will be required for synthesis of one molecule of sucrose?
For the synthesis of 1 molecule of glucose the has to be 6 rounds of Calvin cycle and utilization of 18 ATP. Therefore, for synthesis of one molecule of sucrose (glucose+fructose) the calvin cycle has to occur (6x2= 12 times) and the number of ATP utilised would be (18 x 2= 36 ATP).
