Skin color in man is influenced by three different types of genes. Each dominant allele of a gene imparts one unit of skin color to man. Recessive allele does not impart any color to skin. The number of genotypes exist with respect to skin color is 33 = 27. The dominant alleles of these genes are involved melanin synthesis.
