Mutation
Question

Identify the incorrect statement

Moderate
Solution

Proflavin, acridine orange, ethidium bromide are examples of intercalating agents. They are about the same size as a nucleotide. They produce mutations by sandwiching themselves (intercalating) between adjacent bases in DNA, distorting the three-dimensional structure of the helix and causing single nucleotide insertions and deletions in replication.
