Solution

After mitosis a cell 2n number of chromosome and 2c amount of DNA. After S phase, the amount of DNA doubles and the number of chromosomes remain the same. Therefore, number of chromosomes =2n= 8 and the amount of DNA is 4c= 16x2= 32pg.
