Detailed Solution
In a diploid cell, in the cell cycle the initial stage of interphase is called G1 stage in which the cells are metabolically most active and does not show the replication of DNA. The chromosome number and amount of DNA are respectively 2n and 2C. At the end of S stage, the chromosome number and amount of DNA are respectively 2n and 4C. Similar is the case in G2 stage and till metaphase. In Anaphase the chromosome number and amount of DNA are respectively 4n and 4C. In the daughter nuclei of Telophase and daughter cells formed after cytokinesis the amount of DNA and chromosome number is 2C and 2n.
