Glycolysis
Question

If 2 molecules of 1,3 bisphosphoglyceric acid enter into glycolytic pathway, how many ATP are produced by the completion of glycolysis?

Easy
Solution

If two molecules of 1,3-bisphosphoglyceric acid enter into glycolysis, 2 ATP are formed during the formation of 3-phosphoglyceric acid and another 2 ATP are formed during the formation of pyruvic acid from phosphoenol pyruvic acid. Hence, a total of 4 ATP are formed.
