The daughter DNA strand formed continuously in 5′ → 3′ direction on template DNA strand with 3′ → 5′ polarity is called leading strand and the daughter DNA strand formed in fragments on template DNA strand with 5′ → 3′ polarity is called lagging strand and each fragment is called Okazaki fragment.
