List – I | List – II | ||
A) | Interkinesis | i) | Movement of chiasmata |
B) | Pachytene | ii) | Chiasmata formation |
C) | Diplotene | iii) | Period between Meiosis I and II |
D) | Diakinesis | iv) | Dissolution of synaptonemal complex |
Interkinesis is the period between Meiosis I and Meiosis II during which there is no synthesis of DNA. In Pachytene chiasmata are formed due to crossing over. Synaptonemal complex is degenerated during diplotene. Movement of chiasmata towards telomeres of chromosomes takes place in diakinesis which is known as Terminalisation.
