Solution

Dry fruits in which the pericarp or fruit wall is dry and hard at maturity are seen in plants like Mustard and Groundnut. Fruits have fleshy pericarp at maturity in plants like Orange, Guava, Mango etc. False fruit is fleshy and formed from only thalamus in Apple, pedicel and thalamus in cashewnut and strawberry. Parthenocarpic fruit is formed without the act of fertilization as in banana. Auxins and Gibberellins promote the formation of parthenocarpic fruits.
