Detailed Solution
Tracheids are the conducting elements that do not have sieve areas, sieve plates, and perforation plates and predominantly present in pteridophytes and gymnosperms and to an extent in angiosperms. Vessels are main conduction elements of angiospermic xylem that have only perforation plates but not sieve areas and sieve plates. Sieve cells have only sieve areas in their lateral walls but not in the cross walls and mainly present in the phloem of pteridophytes and gymnosperms. Sieve tubes have both sieve areas in their cross wall (Sieve plate) and lateral walls and only conducting elements of angiospermic phloem.
