Match the following with respect to Mitosis
List I | List II | ||
---|---|---|---|
A) | Prophase | I) | Daughter nuclei formation |
B) | Metaphase | II) | Division of centromere |
C) | Anaphase | III) | Association of each chromosome with two chromosomal spindle fibers |
D) | Telophase | IV) | Organisation of chromatin as chromosomes |
During mitosis, at the time of nuclear division, the various phases that occur in a sequence are prophase, metaphase, anaphase and telophase. In prophase the chromatin is organised as chromosomes due to initiation and continuation of chromatin condensation. In Metaphase, the two kinetochores of each chromosome are associated with two chromosomal spindle fibers . In Anaphase there is division of centromere. In Telophase, there is formation of daughter nuclei.
