Solution

Fruit is mature or ripened ovary, developed after fertilization. The ovules after fertilization, develop into seeds. The wall of the ovary develops into the wall of fruit called pericarp. In fleshy fruits pericarp is generally distinguished into three layers epicarp, mesocarp and endocarp. Mesocarp is fleshy or fibrous. e.g., guava, orange, mango etc. In dry fruits pericarp is not distinguished into three layers. e.g., groundnut, mustard, etc.
