Free-floating hydrophytes like Pistia and Eicchornia have modified adventitious roots at the nodes of its offsets known as balancing roots that help in preventing the plant from turning down. They do not have storage or stilt or pull roots. Pull roots are seen in plants with corms as their stems as in Colocasia and zaminkand.
