Morgan selected Drosophila to verify chromosomal theory of inheritance because of how many of the following reasons

Females are larger than males. Drosophila could be grown easily on simple synthetic media in the lab. They have only 2 weeks life span. A single mating produces larger number of progeny organisms. Sexes are easily distinguishable as females are larger than males. They show many hereditary variations which can be detected under low power microscope.
