According to the rules of ICBN, binomial nomenclature system given by Linnaeus has to be followed while giving the scientific names to plants. Plant binomials must be latinised or taken from Latin origin. The names must be printed in italics or when hand written both generic and species names must be underlined separately. At the end of binomial, the authors name must be given in abbreviated form.
