Out of the following animals, how many show the oestrous cycle?
Lizard, Lion, Goat, Rat, Human, Apes, Monkeys
In non-primate mammals like cows, goats, sheep, rats, deers, dogs, tiger, etc., such cyclical changes during reproduction are called oestrus cycle. Laboratory and field data indicate that female lizards of the species Anolis aeneus have estrus periods corresponding to the presence of a large follicle in one ovary. Where as in primates (monkeys, apes, and humans) it is called menstrual cycle.
