Persistent nucellus in the seed is known as
Generally, the nucellus is consumed during the embryo development. But in some plant species the nucellus is persistent in the seeds. Such seeds are referred to as perispermic seed. It is found in Beet, black pepper.
Chalaza: it is the basal part of the ovule and it is present just opposite to the micropyle.
Hilum: the joint of attachment of the funicle to the body of the ovule.
Tegmen: it is the inner seed coat.
