Solution

A plasmid and a linear DNA fragment has 4 restriction endonuclease site for Hind III. Therefore, acted upon by the restriction endonucleases the first cut converts the circular plasmid into a linear DNA and remaining 3 cuts forms 4 fragments of Plasmid. On the contrary, when the linear DNA is acted upon by the restriction endonucleases at 4 different sites it instantly generates 5 fragments of the linear DNA.
