Photorespiration is also known as Glycolate pathway or C₂ cycle where RuBisCO shows its oxygenase property by making RuBP react with oxygen, instead of CO₂. As a result, one molecule of phosphoglycerate (3 Carbon) and one molecule of phosphoglycolate (2 Carbon) are formed.
