Solution

DNA chemically is less reactive and structurally more stable when compared to RNA. The DNA is therefore a better genetic material. RNA is reactive and hence act as catalyst.
The process of removal of introns and joining the exons is called splicing. Splicing is carried out with the help of snurps (sn RNA + protein). The snurps bind on either side of intron forming a spliceosome which is removed using energy from ATP.
