Detailed Solution
Ginger is an example of rhizome (e.g. prostrate stem creeping horizontally under soil surface). Gravity has its influence on both vertically and horizontally growing organs. Rhizome of ginger contains nodes, internodes and scaly leaves. Buds are emerges from axils of scaly leaves. Response to light by plants is called phototropism. In this sense, shoot shows positive phototropism and root shows negative phototropism.
