Solution

Stigma usually recognizes the proteins of exine of pollen grains and promotes hydration of pollen grains by secreting substances rich in sugars if the pollen is compatible. In incompatible cases it does not hydrate the pollen grains and the pollen grains are rejected. Style accepts the compatible pollen tubes by preventing the bursting of pollen tube and promotes the bursting of pollen tube of incompatible pollen.
