Statement A: Primary xylem is formed centrifugally in stems of angiosperms
Statement B: In stems of angiosperms the protoxylem is towards the centre and metaxylem is towards the periphery of axis.
The stems of angiosperms show endarch primary xylem in which the first formed part of primary xylem known as protoxylem is towards the centre and later formed part of primary xylem is towards the periphery. Such formation of primary xylem is described as centrifugal as formation takes place from centre towards periphery.
