In majority of families of angiosperms and simple leaves are seen. However in some families though compound leaves are common, some exceptions with simple leaves are also seen. Family Brassicaceae, Solanaceae and Liliaceae mainly have simple leaves. In the family Fabaceae compound leaves are more common.
