When hydrophily takes place on the surface of water it is referred to as Epihydrophily. It is found in Vallisneria. In Vallisneria the pedicel (stalk) of female flowers are long and coiled. The stalk reach the water surface. The male flowers are carried passively by water currents and some of them eventually reach the female flower and come in contact with the stigma.
