At critical micelle concentration, the anions (-COO−which is hydrophilic in nature), pulled into the bulk of solution and aggregate to form a spherical shape with their hydrocarbon chains (which is hydrophobic in nature) pointing towards the centre of the sphere. An aggregate thus formed is known as ionic micelles.
