Calcium imide on hydrolysis gives gas (P) which on oxidation by bleaching powder gives gas (Q). Gas (Q)on reaction with magnesium gives compound (R) which on hydrolysis again gives gas (P). Identify (P) (Q), and (R)

Solution
Calcium imide on hydrolysis gives gas NH3 and Ca(OH)2. So p is NH3. CaNH+2H2O→NH3+Ca(OH)2 NH3 on oxidation by bleaching powder gives gas N2 and byproducts. So Q is N2 3CaOCl2+2NH3→3CaCl2+3H2O+N2 N2 on reaction with magnesium gives compound Mg3N2 N2+3Mg→Mg3N2. Mg3N2 on hydrolysis gives NH3, which is nothing but p. Mg3N2+6H2O→3Mg(OH)2+2NH3 So P,Q,R are NH3,N2,Mg3N2.
