Solution

At point B at high pressure, volume is low
$∴ (p + \frac{a}{V^{2}}) \approx p$
$∴ p (V - b) = RT$
By approximation pV = RT
$\Rightarrow \frac{p}{RT} = \frac{1}{V}$
$Z = \frac{pV}{RT} = 1 + \frac{pb}{RT} = (1 + \frac{b}{V})$
