E_{cell}^o = E_c^o - E_a^o

 

 

In 1st cell Cu electrode is anode and Ag electrode is cathode

E_{A{g^ + }/Ag}^o - E_{C{u^{ + 2}}/Cu}^o = 0.46
E_{A{g^ + }/Ag}^o - 0.46 \;= E_{C{u^{ + 2}}/Cu}^o

In 2nd cell Zn electrode is anode and Cu electrode is cathode.

E_{C{u^{ + 2}}/Cu}^o - E_{Z{n^{ + 2}}/Zn}^o = 1.1
E_{A{g^ + }/Ag}^o - 0.46 - E_{Z{n^{ + 2}}/Zn}^o = 1.1

In 3rd cell Zn electrode is anode and Ag electrode is cathode.

E_{A{g^ + }/Ag}^o - E_{Z{n^{ + 2}}/Zn}^o = 1.1 + 0.46 = 1.56V
