The example for the reagent which is usually  generated in situ (produced in the reaction mixture during the course of reaction)

Some of the chemical reagents  are highly unstable,hence they are not available in laboratory.Then those reagents are generated instantaneously during the course of reaction. The reagents which are generated during the course of reaction in the reaction mixture is said to be in situ generation.
