Detailed Solution
When ferromagnetic substances (such as Fe, Co, Ni, and CrO2) are placed in a magnetic field, all the domains get oriented in the direction of the magnetic field. As a result, the substance has high magnetic moment. The ordering of domains remains even when the external magnetic field is removed. Hence, the substance remains permanently magnetized.
