Solution

Chlorine is more reactive towards the addition reaction with Acetylene. Chlorine on addition to Ethyne it can easily forms 1,1,2,2–tetrachloroethane. Bromine on addition to Ethyne it can easily forms 1,2–dibromoethane. Iodine slowly reacts with Ethyne to form 1,2–diiodoethane. Sunlight enhance the rate of the halogen addition reaction.
