Statement 1: The first real compound of the noble gases discovered in 1962 was Xe+PtF6−.Statement 2: The discovery was based on the basis of comparable ionisation energy of O2 and Xe and a compound O2+PtF6− was prepared by Bartlett which was later on reported to be XeF+Pt2F11−.
