II .. Simple salt solution of silver, ${AgNO}_{3}$ when subjected to electrolysis deposit large quantities of “silver” at cathode which is to be electroplated. Thus it cannot be used for electroplating which requires a thin layer of silver coating.
$K [Ag {(CN)}_{2}]$ is selected an electrolyte. ${Ag}^{+}$ ion is in the form of complex ,which when electrolysed deposits very small amounts of silver at cathode.
