Electrolysis
Question

Statement I : During electrolysis of aqueous CuSO4 using Pt electrodes,pH progressively decreases

Statement II : Electrolysis of aqueous CuSO4 using Pt electrodes, the solution becomes acidic due to the formation of H2SO4

Easy
Solution

\large Cathode:Cu_{\left( {aq} \right)}^{ + 2} + 2{e^ - } \to C{u_{\left( s \right)}}

\large Anode:2{H_2}O \to 4{H^ + } + 4{e^ - } + {O_2}

After electrolysis Cell is left with H2SO4 which is a strong acid, hence pH decreases.
